IMANI
is Swahili
for 'faith'
Our Goals...
-
The IMANI Coalition is
a faith community-based collaboration between nine organizations
that provide HIV/AIDS prevention education and services to African
Americans in Nashville-Davidson County.
-
The goal of the IMANI
Coalition is to improve the health status of African Americans
disproportionately affected by HIV, STDs, and TB in
Nashville-Davidson County, Tennessee.
-
Ultimately, by
utilizing the strength of African American community-based
organizations, we want to reduce the incidences of HIV, STDs and TB
infections among African Americans, who are disproportionately
affected in Nashville-Davidson County, Tennessee by HIV, STDs, TB
and substance abuse.
|
|
Our Objectives...
To acheive our goals, the IMANI coalition has a two-fold plan of
action:
-
By utilizing a
community coalition that will plan and develop linked networks of
HIV, STD, TB prevention, education and care services within African
American communities for which gaps in services and funding exist,
we hope to increase access to prevention, education and substance
abuse services for the at-risk population.
-
By strengthening
existing linkages among local prevention, treatment and care
providers, we will be able to better serve these communities.
|
|

of case management services for the prevention and treatment of
